I am Julián Martínez.
Nat Abramson (b. 2004, Philadelphia, PA) is currently enrolled in the undergraduate General Fine Arts program at Maryland Institute College of Art. His experimental film and video projects such as I Am Not The Same As I Was and I Live to Consume I Love To Consume have been exhibited at various shows across Baltimore and Philadelphia. With a passion for film, moving image work, sculpture, and fiber arts, he strives to create abstract and ambiguous work. With a focus on the human body and mind in relation to the world it inhabits, his art career is fueled by a passion for crafting chaotic creations.
"My work reflects the chaos, maximalism, and beauty that makes up the world. The movement and fluidity of video art is something I find much more helpful to work with in my artistic practice and to convey my ideas directly. The feelings that drive me to make art, such as feelings of detachment, grief, or disassociation, are ones I have never been fully been able to express through 2D art forms–film and video, on the other hand, feel like a gateway into bringing what I envision in my mind into the real world. When I make art, it feels as though there is an itch in the back of my brain that I need to scratch, and the use of film and video helps to scratch that itch."
